| "Coastal Strike" - A South African pilot’s wartime experiences in the Royal Air Force and South African Force. This book is about John Clements DFC from his training days in Southern Rhodesia and the United Kingdom to the conflict in the Mediterranean. He was eventually shot down and taken prisoner of war. When the Italians capitulated he took advantage of the confusion and escaped to rejoin the Allies. His tour of operations was completed as part of 16 Sqdn SAAF before he returned to South Africa. This is a very interesting read and the painting on the front cover was done by Darryl Legg. Sean Thackwray did the pencil illustrations for the book. This book is available directly from
