In my opinion, still the publication standard, by which any publication on the SAAF, is judged - despite being more than 20 years old! This book feature photos by the late Herman Potgieter and highlights his keen eye for detail, photo composition and beautiful aerial photography. Also feature a comprehensive early SAAF history, which is well illustrated with photos, Sqdn badges, Sqdn history, aircraft drawings and specifications. This book illustrates the SAAF at it's all time best and includes photos of all types then in service. This effort should be congratulated, without it much of our Air Force's history would've been lost forever. Never before did this type of info on the SAAF, appeared in a single volume. In addition to, two hard cover editions a single soft cover edition also appeared. This book is sadly out of print and very, very difficult to obtain.
	9 780869 772331	"Aviation in South Africa" - H. Potgieter. This book was sponsored by South African Airways and focus on the civil aviation scene in SA. A small section is included on military aviation. Book is out of print.
	0-86977-371-0	"SAAF Poster Book" - H. Potgieter. The pages can be removed from the book to be used as posters. Single photos of SAAF subjects are included as well as some info on the aircraft in both English and Afrikaans. Out of print.
