The IMG travelled down to Swaziland for the weekend of 25 to 27 September 2009, to attend the Swaziland Airshow staged on 26 September 2009, at the Matsapha International Airport.  This airshow turned out to be one of the most enjoyable airshows that the team attended over the last four years as part of IMG.

The year 2009, marks the 30th Anniversary of the Swaziland USDF Airwing, which has always operated as part of the unified Umbutfo Swaziland Defence Force (USDF).  The Airwing possesses the sole survivor of three Arava transports that were obtained from Israel in 1979, while three Alouette III light helicopters, which are used for support tasks, were received in 2000 from South Africa.  In honour of this anniversary occasion, the USDF Airwing invited the SADEC Air Forces/Airwings to attend an Anniversary Airshow to be held in Swaziland.  Three other air arms accepted the invitation and to the IMG team, the highlight of the show was the aircraft that was present from the Zambian Air Force, the Zimbabwe Air Force and the Lesotho Defence Airwing, in addition to the Swaziland USDF Airwing. To add some variety to the show and make it even more attractive to the public a number of other aircraft were present at the show.  This included aerobatic teams, various jet aircraft, a maritime reconnaissance aircraft and individual aerobatic aircraft. The acts that were presented were of very high quality and most important the whole show was concluded without any incidents or accidents.
