Meetings:Meetings are held once a month on the first Saturday of every month and held at MODENO PARK in Bloemfontein. HISTORY:The club in the Free State was initiated by Terrance Jones, who was then a member of the Western Cape chapter. During 1989, an inaugural meeting was held with the following persons: Terrance Jones, Chris de Necker, Eugene Kietzmann, Bert van den Heever, George Schoonraad, Reinhard Bressler and others. The club has had it's up and downs as membership goes. But, the club has picked up very good members as time went by - usually after public displays and promotions, of which all kinds have been held. The first public display was held, at "Cars-in-the-Park" during 1990. Other displays have been at the Natural History Museum in Bloemfontein and one was even held at a shoe store in the display window! This display was marked with someone throwing a brick through the window to get to the models! A tradition which started at the beginning of the club was, that at least one meeting during a year would be held at Tweespruit, as three of the members were from this little town. This still continues today. During 1994, a Constitution & Rules were accepted by the club, of which a copy is given to each member. REGIONAL CLUB EVENTS: |
