An airshow in the Overberg area never disappoints and always delivers something unique. The weather has played its tricks over the years and even in the year with no rain the sun was a scorcher.

More than 160 aircraft took part in the fly-in

During 2007 the base celebrated its 20th anniversary and the airshow certainly served as the highlight as part of the anniversary celebrations. Even cell phones indicated “Airshow” throughout the day. In keeping with its tradition of something unique the missile firing and especially the twin missile firing presented at the 2007 airshow is likely to serve as a talking point for a fair number of years. World class displays by a variety of aircraft with flares launched from two helicopter types with ground armament handling, the debut of C130 no 409 and the sheer brilliant Cheetah Duo display added to the all time sparkle of the event. Regarded as the Centre for Test Flight Excellence - TFDC has certainly earned another accolade as the Centre for Airshow Excellence with the 2007 airshow.

BEST SAAF participated airshow of the year…..    Without a doubt.
