As the new chairman I would firstly like to thank Marc Cilliers for his efforts in keeping the Society on the straight and narrow since the event in Bloemfontien. If it were not for the efforts of members like Marc the Society would surely not survive.

Secondly a big hand to Anton Dyason who most of you will know administers the web site. A task which consumes a great amount of Anton’s modelling time. In the past six months he has moved the site to a new host, not an easy task. The new look is great and from the number of international hits to the site we are doing the right things to promote the hobby from SA.

I cannot go without mentioning the National Championship’s “07 held in Vanderbyjl Park. I would like to thank Faan Venter and his small band of committee members for the organisation and finding at the last minute a good venue. Many of you will remember the Emerald Casino had originally been the named venue but this fell over just a few weeks before the due date. I think we had a good room for our event, the light was good for judging and the right size for our event. It’s no mean feat to host such an event and with such a small committee in any event a more difficult task. Thanks Faan.

Thirty Six members displayed 215 model (just think how many models if every member of IPMS had attended and brought models) To those of you who were successful in winning in their chosen class, congratulations. To those of you who didn’t win congratulations because without you there is no competition.

To Rob Heath, thanks for offering Pretoria as the next club to host the National’s, whatever support the Jo’burg club can offer you only have to ask. March ’09 is the time scale a deffinate date has yet to be set.
