Page 2 of 7 There were 36 entrants with a total of 215 models on display. The largest contingent was from Cape Town and the commitment by members of this branch is something to be commended. Despite a distance of around 1500 kms this did not prevent Cape Town from attending. Most elected to use Bloemfontein as a stop-over, an offer from fellow scale modelling friends. Speaking of commitment one modeller attended all the way from Bloemfontein on his motorcycle! Given the close proximity of Pretoria and Johannesburg there were a large number of “day visitors” who managed to break away from other commitments for a quick visit. The actual display hall used for the model display served as a tertiary gym in its day with large windows to provide large amounts of natural light. For the first time in more than 10 years there were no complaints about the lighting in the display hall. Around noon all the models were unpacked with club display tables by Gold Reef Modelers Society, Cape Town and Pretoria. The only SIG to display was the Helicopter SIG run by Colin Burgess.
