Page 5 of 6 Aerobatic displays In addition to the military displays there were civilian aerobatic displays from top rated international and local aerobatic display teams. The atrocious weather throughout the country possibly affected some teams and pilots attending from Johannesburg were badly affected. International Displays| Jurgis Kairys and Zoltán Veres | Jurgis Kairys with his Su-26 | | Once again the Mafikeng airshow hosted these two highly acclaimed aerobatic display pilots in South Africa. Fortunately the weather played ball and both of these pilots were able to perform their solo displays for the crowd. Although not as impressive as last year’s show (due to high winds) and I suppose a little bit of biasness on our part having been stunned by these two brilliant pilots last year it remained none the less still outstanding and breathtaking to view. |
Zoltan Veres in the Extra 300L | | Local Content Local is lekker hey? The stalwarts of SA aerobatic teams in the form of Scully Levin and the Academy Brushware Flying Lions as well as the Control Instruments Pitts Special display teams were in attendance. Unfortunately the heavy winds earlier in the day caused the Microlight Snake team to call off their scheduled display.
