Now in its third year since the re-introduction of the Mafikeng airshow in the NorthWest Province this airshow just keeps on growing. With a enthusiastic , dedicated and passionate team leader in the form of Rickie Rennie with the full support and backing of the NWP Government the Mafikeng Airshow is one of the must see events on the annual South African Airshow calendar.

From the start of events with a live TV broadcast on National TV of proceedings on the Friday morning preceding the airshow to having contracted 4 international aerobatic performers the Mafikeng airshow was going to be a show stopper.

The NorthWest province is very serious in their intention, launched last year, in bringing aviation to the people. Not only this but also in ensuring that Mafikeng is the aviation portal for tourism in the NWP.  Plans are well advanced for the return of an International status for Mafikeng which is being achieved by repatriating the current international status from Pilanesburg Airport back to Mafikeng. There are also plans in place for a technology hub and several aviation companies have started operating from the Mafikeng airport. There is also a growing and active general aviation nucleus at Mafikeng.
