As part of the annual Navy Day, the Navy demonstrated the intricate process of launching an Oryx helicopter from the heli-deck of one on the new frigates, the SAS Spioenkop. At sea there is no escape in the advent of a mishap or fire and the whole process is carefully executed by a dedicated and highly trained team.  Following the take–off, no 1234 gave a short display before climbing to height and disappearing towards Ysterplaat – the home of 22 Sqdn.
