Page 3 of 5 SIYANDIZA at AFB Makhado:Along the static area a special area was set aside for a special youth in aerospace programme as part of Siyandiza (A project by the SAAF to further aerospace awareness under the youth). To promote aviation awareness under the youth in Limpopo Province the SAAF’s youth programme, Siyandiza with the Department of Education for Limpopo facilitated a special awareness programme. Throughout the five educational regions which fall under the control of the Department of Education for Limpopo each school were required to submit all of the following: - Any aircraft model made out of wire.
- Any aircraft model made out of paper.
- Complete an aviation related puzzle (questionnaire)

All entries were judged by representatives of Siyandiza and the Department of Education for Limpopo. A winning school was selected for each of the five regions. The relevant school send a group of learners to represent the school at the Fighter Meet. However they were presented with a new challenge – complete a Revell 1/72 F16 scale model in the allotted time. All five models were completed and judged to appoint the 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd placed school. The top three schools each received an office standard document centre. Prizes were sponsored by Gestetner with AMG (a DENEL affiliate) sponsoring shirts for use by the learners. The document centres were presented to the winning schools by Dr P.A. Motsoaledi (MEC for Education – Limpopo), high ranking SAAF officials, AFB Makhado and a representative of Gestetner South Africa.  Dr P.A.
