Page 7 of 9 Both the “Rooikat” and TTD were demonstrated around the mini obstacle course located adjacent to the instructional area in full view of the visitors. Members of the School of Armour had great fun while demonstrating both pieces of extremely powerful armour equipment around the course. After the demonstration members were driven around the course on top of either the “Rooikat” or TTD and for many an armour enthusiast this proved to be the highlight of the weekend. The School of Armour subsequently delivered the visitors back to the “Big Willie” facility, while some die-hard Soviet armour enthusiast elected to stay behind to view the T72 being placed in storage. Having missed the return ride on the tank transport the walk back to the Convention area did not seem to matter – being in close proximity of a real T72 was considered more important. IPMS Free State booked the 2nd Avenue Café for the evening dinner in the form of a set meal with a pleasant time enjoyed by all.
