Impressive SAAF Dakota collection by D. Gait in 1/144 scale.

Until recently, the only option was a cross-kit conversion with some scratchbuilt items, using any of the 1/72 Dakota kits, as a basis. But this has also been done in 1/144 scale!

The fuselage plug (14.1mm in 1/72) was the biggest challenge. Although a Dutch aftermarket company offered similar engine cowlings - these were not readily available. A number of modellers actually did complete such a conversion to form a very neat model. But a C47-TP model is now, so much easier. Heritage Aviation offer a complete aftermarket kit, which contains everything needed for such a conversion.
