| Meaning: | We are useful |
“Prosumus” is the motto of 44 Squadron and the meaning ‘We are useful” has proved over the past 50 years not to be hollow words. The dedicated air and ground crews working all hours of the day or night and, often under appalling and dangerous conditions, kept the durable DC3’s, DC4’s and at one time, the Viscount in the air, to live up to the Squadron’s motto. Since 44 Squadron’s inception in 1944, the main task and dedication to duty over nearly half a million flying hours has remained the same. 44 Squadron is very proud of its good safety record and all members past and present can be proud of such a fine and dedicated unit.
