Some SAAF Shackletons apeared briefly in a different colour scheme at the beginning of their careers in South Africa. The top illustration is the general colour scheme applied to the SAAF Shackletons throughout the rest of their careers in the SAAF.

In front of the canopy - matt black, top of fuselage semi-gloss white. On top of wings - extra dark sea grey, similar to Humbrol 27. The rest of the fuselage and lower part of the wings - PRU blue, similar to Humbrol 124. These two colours join on the centre line of the wing tip tanks. The spinners were red. Props - matt black and 3.5mm (1/72 scale)  from the tip - yellow.
