This report features the activities of the Saturday as it was impossible to attend both display days. The airshow formed part of the International Transport convention hosted by the Limpopo Province (formerly Northern Province) with Polokwane (formerly Pietersburg) as it’s capital. |

The annual Rand Airshow was staged on Sunday 15 May 2005 and as per previous years a large number of activities catered for various visitors of different age groups. The flee market type stalls offered a variety of goods for sale and many vendors offered goods to the aviation community. As SAA’s first Boeing 747 (Lebombo) is now on permanent static exhibit at Rand Airport, the aircraft was accessible to the general public to view the passenger decks and enormous cargo hold. All the flying display aircraft was neatly spaced in a static aircraft park. |

The South African airshow circuit for 2005 opened with the first significant airshow staged on Saturday 30 April at Wonderboom Aerodrome near Pretoria. This was presented as part of the EAASA (Experimental Aircraft Association of South Africa) fly-inn & convention. A large number of aircraft attended the fly-inn ranging from ex-military types, civilian aircraft, and helicopters to actual home built aircraft. In addition various local aerospace companies exhibited products specific for the experimental aircraft and aviation enthusiast.
